Adult Learning

Indulge your appetite for lifelong learning! Temple Kol Ami’s Rabbis, members and guest teachers offer regular classes in relevant and fascinating topics.

Torah Study/Chevrat Torah

TKA’s weekly Torah Study group is among the oldest established Torah study groups in the area. Here, a group of regular as well as occasional adult learners immerse themselves in the essence of Torah as they unpack each week’s portion (parsha) over bagels and coffee. The group guarantees a lively and engaging discussion. Newcomers are always welcome!

Bagels and Basics

Several times during the year guest lecturers join us on Sunday mornings to shmooze with members and non-members alike over bagels and coffee, then stay to learn from a local rabbi, leader, educator or member who has something interesting to share. Whether it’s the latest project of a local agency, a visiting scholar, or some other Jewish topic of interest, watch the weekly member e-mail or the TKA Facebook page for our next exciting learning opportunity.

Formed in 2017, the Social Justice Book Club reads and discusses books on issues facing both the social fabric of our country and the Jewish Community. The group has dynamic conversations about religious discrimination, racism, employment issues and their effects on our society. Led by Professor Tara Hayes, the group meets on Sunday mornings, 10 times per year.

Other learning opportunities abound at TKA. The TKA weekly member e-mail has all the details, or check the calendar.
