TKA Religious School featured in Detroit Jewish News front page article
We are very pleased to announce Temple Kol Ami Religious School’s participation in an exciting initiative, sponsored in part by Federation’s Alliance for Jewish Education, CSI: Detroit (Congregational School Initiative). This is a school assessment program that has been specifically designed to examine the workings of congregational schools in our community.
Our participation reinforces Temple Kol Ami’s commitment to the Jewish education of our children. Involvement in CSI: Detroit does not in any way indicate that there is anything wrong with the education that we are providing in our Religious School. In fact, it means just the opposite — that all those involved with education at TKA’s Religious School want to be sure we are teaching your children in the most effective ways possible.
CSI: Detroit has helped us assess the strengths of our Religious School, identify areas to target for improvement and provide assistance to implement changes we choose to initiate. The process will take several months; upon completion we will receive a written report that thoroughly analyzes the important elements of our school’s program, and how the school interfaces with other aspects of the congregation.
Temple Kol Ami’s commitment to education for our children exemplifies what the Torah teaches: “You shall teach them to your children”. Our Religious School teaches all our children love of Torah and a commitment to l’dor vador…to pass our traditions, rituals and Jewish history from one generation to the next. We look forward to using the information from CSI: Detroit help us sustain our high level of Jewish Education and secure the highest standards of Jewish learning, as we grow into the future.
