TSS beats Keter Torah 20-12 in league championship game
Aug 23, 2009 - West Bloomfield, MI
Temple Shir Shalom pulls out a win over Keter Torah, 20-12, in a nailbiter!
KT took the lead early and played their best game of the season to date, even in the misty rain. All things were falling into place for them to steal an undefeated season from TSS.
After a questionable call injuring third baseman Bob Friedman of KT, the tables turned and TSS pulled it together for the win.
The defending champions, Temple Kol Ami, lost last week to Shaarey Zedek, finishing the season in 3rd place, but SZ lost in the second round playoffs to first seed TSS, allowing them to advance to the Championship. In addition to these teams, the league consists of teams from Adat Shalom, Beth Ahm, Beth El, Temple Israel (two teams) and Shaarey Zedek.
The league has been around for about 13 years, and TSS has won the championship seven times.
