The Membership Committee is responsible for recruiting, integrating, and retaining members. We try to help create connections and community through events and activities. Temple Kol Ami employs a “New Member Ambassadors” program to add a personal component to the process of welcoming new TKA members. This program encourages “seasoned” congregants to mentor and integrate new members into our TKA community. Anyone who loves meeting new people can mentor a new member!
As summer ends, we plan prospective member events, including special Shabbat services and activities designed to appeal to all ages.
Another popular event is Shabbanukah where we enjoy Chanukah Shabbat together. After the musically oriented service families light Chanukah Candles and eat latkes in the Social Hall.
We also have Simply Shabbat-lucks throughout the year. It’s a potluck dinner following our Simply Shabbat 6 pm service. These are just a few of the events that the Membership Committee plans throughout the year.
The Membership Committee currently meets the first Sunday of the month
during Religious School. New participants are always welcome! The time commitment is minimal, and you can even sign up to help with a single event.
